The Gap Year Show
The Gap Year Show is expanding in 2006 with two shows to be held in consecutive weeks on 10th and 11th of November at the G-MEX Centre in Manchester and 17th and 18th November at the ExCeL centre in London.
The first gap year show was held in 2005 and the positive response has encouraged the organisers to make the show even bigger.
Sean Mills, Managing Director of The Gap Year Show explains:
‘We had a fantastic response from visitors to The Gap Year Show last year, so in 2006 we will be making the show more accessible to people, by holding two shows, in different parts of the country.’
Last year over 2,000 people attended the show and it attracted a varied audience ranging from school parties, to individuals to grown up gappers looking for a new adventure.
Sean is pleased to be expanding the show into Manchester.
‘We learnt some important lessons in 2005 and we will be focusing on how we can improve in 2006. We want to encourage yet more school parties to attend, as a significant number of gap year travellers take a year out before university and it’s something that schools should highlight as an options to their students.’
He continues:
‘The feedback we received from last year’s show also demonstrated that there is a huge demand from ‘grown up gappers’, people who have been in full time employment for a number of years and who are looking for a new adventure. Career breaks are becoming more and more popular and The Gap Year Show 2006 will be an event which will meet their needs as much as the needs of the pre-university traveller.’
‘We hope that having the gap year shows in two locations will make it much easier for people all over the country to attend and we would encourage anyone with an interest in travelling to come along and meet some of our exhibitors to allow them to explore all their options fully.’
The Gap Year Shows will be held at the G-MEX Centre in Manchester on 10th and 11th of November 2006 and at the ExCeL centre in London on 17th and 18th November 2006.
