The Times is Headline Sponsor of The Gap Year Show
The Times today announces that it is the headline sponsor of The Gap Year Show, the UK's leading exhibition for anyone taking time out.
The move follows the announcement that The Times has been named as the leading newspaper for students according to the latest Graduate Careers survey by High Fliers Research. The newspaper has the highest readership of any of the national newspapers and more finalists read CAREER in The Times than any other newspaper job section.
The Gap Year Show, which takes place in London and Manchester in November, will be supported by a co-branded marketing campaign worth more than £100,000 in The Times alone, and further marketing activity will bring the total up to over £200,000.
An eight page editorial supplement will be distributed with The Times in October 2006. The supplement, which will be written and designed by The Times editorial, will feature inspirational ideas and essential information for anyone of any age looking to take a year off. In addition, The Times Gap Year Show will be promoted by a co-branded advertising campaign running in The Times and its CAREER and Travel sections and at Times Online in the Travel and Recruitment channels. Visitors to Times Online will be able to buy tickets to the show directly.
The partnership was put together by Jason Baker, Group Head of Career, MBA and Recruitment Solutions, whose team is responsible for developing innovative and creative cross-platform solutions at Times Newspapers for the recruitment sector.
David German, Classified and Online Advertising Director, Times Newspapers, commented: "This is an excellent example of the opportunities we are now offering clients through our classified department. The Gap Year Show is a very nice fit with The Times and it offers us and our clients in the recruitment and travel sectors some extremely exciting commercial opportunities."
Sean Mills, Managing Director of The Gap Year Show is delighted that The Times are on board. He commented: "The Times' commitment to The Gap Year Show illustrates how popular gap years and sabbaticals have become. The aim of The Times Gap Year Show is to educate and inform everyone at any stage of their life of the options and the opportunities available to them. Whether they're 18 or 80, we can help them to plan the experience of a lifetime. Exhibitors and visitors can find out more about The Times Gap Year Show at www.gapyearshow.com"
The Times Gap Year Show 2006 is being held on consecutive weeks on 10th and 11th of November at the GMEX Centre in Manchester and 17th and 18th November at the ExCel centre in London.
